A host of attractions and events are getting a £350,000 boost to attract visitors to the Conwy County region.

Conwy Council Cabinet on Tuesday agreed to release the match funding to allow schemes as diverse as an Alice in Wonderland electronic ‘E-Tour’ in Llandudno and the Wales Rally GB to continue, with the mone coming from the authority’s Local Community Regeneration Provision fund.

The launch of Porth Eirias watersports hub in Colwyn Bay this Spring is getting £15,000 of match funding, Wales Rally GB (£45,000), Access All Eirias operational expenses (£28,776), Alice in Wonderland E-Tour (£65,000), countryside sites improvements (£20,000), Penrhyn Bay library refurbishment (£18,000) and a rural transport study (£9,938).

There will also be £77,323.74 to fund a shortfall over hosting the IRB international rugby series, and Conwy Business Support Grant will get £40,000, match funded by the private sector, plus £15,000 for community schemes.
