One of the very best kept secrets within Wales is a certain country house that’s also a fine dining restaurant in Caernarfon, with an unbelievably exciting menu which offers a true culinary treat for all callers. The Ty’n Rhos Country House Hotel which is placed between Bangor and Caernarfon has an absolutely stellar restaurant which is more than guaranteed to give you one of the best dining experiences you’ve likely ever had.
You might roll your eyes and be thinking that a hotel couldn’t simply match a real restaurant, though the Ty’n Rhos Country House in Caernarfon manages to surpass them. For instance, their excellent selection of wines is quite simply unparalleled – their ties to a local wine merchant allow them to provide a comprehensive wine list, of the likes you’ll likely have only seen in specialist restaurants.
A jack of all trades establishment this is not – and the Ty’n Rhos Country House Hotel’s wine list is incredible for the fact that it focuses on some very good selections without falling into the trap of having a cheap section, and an expensive section.
The Ty’n Rhos’ food is also rather stellar. For instance, their menus are constantly changing, as absolutely everything served at the Ty’n Rhos Country House Hotel is on a daily menu, and most likely has been caught that very morning. The complexity of the dishes on Ty’n Rhos’ menu look indeed far above any kind of amateur chef’s efforts, which is rather understandable for the fact that you see that the Ty’n Rhos benefits from the efforts of an entire brigade of Swiss-Trained chefs.
What about atmosphere? Again, full marks, though this one might be somewhat subjective if you perhaps don’t enjoy intimate surroundings. The dining room fits 13 tables, snugly, and while you’re never really pushed up against the table, those that enjoy larger than life atmospheres may find the Ty’n Rhos Country House’s Dining Room perhaps a little too cosy.
That being said, the quality of the surroundings and the scenery is quite simply without comparison, the tablecloths and table decorations are worthy of the building and the environment, and eating here certainly feels like a fine way to mark a very, very special occasion.
