As the snow seems to anxiously set on the mountains and living rooms across the region fill up gradually with pine trees, it would take even the stingiest of Scrooges to not get into the full Christmas swing already.
This beautiful area has a lot to offer and no more so than with fun days out for everyone including a bit of guilty shopping here and there! Luckily, it’s Christmas so you can’t feel too bad for splashing the cash and especially if it’s a gift for a loved one.

Unique Christmas gifts are to be found all across the area thanks to fantastic Christmas markets in North Wales and its surrounding regions popping up all over the place, giving you much cause for seasonal. Following on from our guide on Santa Claus in North Wales and our coverage on a possible new market in Llandudno, NorthWales.com has compiled some of the highlights of where to find market fun all the way through to the big day itself.
Christmas Markets in North Wales
Llandudno Christmas Fayre: 19th to 22nd of November
Always a gem in the Christmas calendar, this event brings together the local community and visitors from afar to celebrate some of the best local crafts, food and ale.
With a special appearance by Santa in the pipeline and much fun and excitement to be had, this event is simply not to be missed.
Errdig Christmas Market: (Wrexham) Held on the weekends between November 23rd and December 15th
One of the most iconic places looked after by The National Trust, Erdigg is going to come alive with plenty of mince pies, mulled wine and jovialities taking place at this fantastic market.
Royal Welsh Winter Fayre: (Powys) 30th November & 1st of December
If you’re after the best in agriculture but also Christmas cheer, then make sure you attend this superb celebration of all things livestock.
After you fill up at the food hall, don’t be too surprised to bump into Santa as you make your way around the super array of stalls!
Llanberis Christmas Market 11th December
The beautiful mountain town of Llanberis is set to host a wonderful christmas market. Expect a mellow lantern parade, an assortment of varied stalls, quality entertainment, brilliantly festive food and refreshments for all.
Celtic Fayre (Colwyn Bay ) 26th of November – 29th of November
A large event to be held under the cover of cabins and marquees, there will be live music, and a variety of entertainment to keep you entertained throughout the day
A large event undercover in marquees and cabins – you can expect demonstrations, live music and plenty of entertainment to keep everyone happy. Around 100 stalls are set to be making their way to the small seaside town of Colwyn Bay, so i’m sure you will agree that the market street will be appropriately decked out. Enjoy the aromas of seasonal foods, the charming array of crafts and an impressive selection of gifts.
Of course, admission to this event is absolutely FREE! Active between 10am and 5pm.
Plas Newydd Christmas Fair (Llanfairpwll 5th and 6th of December
The old welsh country house comes to life in the festive season, coming to its zenith on the 6th of December, when it will host the christmas fair. Over 60 stalls will be setting up shop within the grounds of the incredible building. Expect arts, crafts, gifts, food and refreshment stalls which may just overwhelm you with an amazing selection of holiday goods and treats. Find a loved one that unique trinket you’ve been looking for, and have a winter-wonderful day out at the same time.
Beaumaris Christmas Festival 28th November
Beaumaris Castle will be hosting a Victorian Christmas festival. Grab some stocking fillers, get involved with some workshops, take a gander at the wealth of stalls offering an immeasurable array of variety. The grand stunning location of the castle will transform into a winter palace fit for as a special festival as this. There will be a raffle, a punch and judy show and with much more!
