For the third year in a row the Plas Maenan Hotel has received a certificate of excellence from the site TripAdvisor, the hotel is now being in the top 10% of the site. The hotel is owned and run by Caroline and James Burt, who bought the run-down Plas Maenan when on the verge of giving up, while looking for holiday lets. On the verge of giving up they found this hidden gem and made it their mission to polish it up to its full potential.
They spent six months renovating it, and even though there have been some bumps in the road, they’ve never looked back.
Although they have worked very hard on it, they say the award is owed to the 20 strong staff, who are fantastic to the guests, they made the decision to employ local people and they say that it has paid off. They also owe the absolutely incredible views that the hotel provides for guests.
The award is given to businesses in the hospitality sector that consistently earn high ratings from guests.
Getting an award from Trip Adviser is a huge accolade, because people can say whatever they want on the site, and if someone has a bad time at your establishment then you are sure to hear about it!
They bought the hotel with the intention of it being a 5 year project, but with the way everything’s been going they have changed their mind and are going to be around for the foreseeable future.
There are many fantastic hotels in North Wales; it is a popular holiday destination which is why the couple wanted to move here in the first place. Its stunning views and gorgeous countryside draws thousands of people worldwide every year to enjoy the welsh charm.
