The Arts Weekend, LLAWN03 is returning to Llandudno for its third year on the 18th – 20th September 2015. This event is a free for all to attend and is a festival unlike any other. It will take place throughout the town and celebrates Llandudno’s Victorian heritage and great art all at once.
If you ever wondered why Llandudno is the Queen of Welsh resorts then it is time to find out as local and international artists bring history to life.
If you are in Llandudno on the 18th, 19th & 20th this month, you are in for a weekend completely packed with excitement, energy and artistic expression. You may notice some unusual additions to the peaceful seaside town.
Dotted around the promenade, onthe pier and Llandudno town you will spotvarious performances, artworks and displays all related around this year’s theme – ‘Return / Reveal’. There will also be works that are recreations of Victorian Bathing Machines. They will be the bespoke, individual and beautifully designed venues for all the amazing displays and events that are on throughout the Arts weekend.
These bizarre contraptions were very important to the Victorians on their seaside holidays and LLAWN03 will transform them into mini mobile theatres and galleries. They will host the many films, exhibitions, acts, performances and displays that are on offer in Llandudno to help you get close to art and Llandudno’s Victorian history like never before!
This mixture of contemporary, inventive art will deliver so much to experience. There will be work by Welsh artists Eli Acheson-Elmassry, Megan Broadmeadow, Shani Rhys James and many more weird and wonderful events to fuel your curiosity and amaze your mind.
Remember this is a free festival so do not miss out on the entertainment. Alternatively, if you don’t want to attend as a member of the public and instead want to get involved, then here’s how you can:
The team who are putting together LLAWN03 are looking for a dedicated team of Festival Stewards. If you can spare a couple hours over the duration of the weekend, you can get in touch with the team today. Depending on your experience, you can expect tasks such as meeting and greeting artists, stewarding, opening and closing venues, venue management and also acting as a festival guide.
So what are you waiting for? Get planning your weekend in Llandudno now and be sure to check out all the amazing work on display and fantastic performances.
