Llandudno locals, fans of bright lights and motors are in for a treat, being hosted is the 3rd annual Llandudno GoldWing Light Parade 2014 on Saturday the 30th of August. This celebration of the famous series of touring motorcycles that are manufactured by Honda is surely going to cause a fuss in town!
The practice of adding modified lights to the GoldWing has become a phenomenon among collectors, and have a tradition of having meets such as this where they show off their kindred vehicles and meet like-minded GoldWing enthusiasts.
GoldWing decorations range from being lit incredibly to being themed with pop culture references! There’s sure to be plenty of modified bikes that will amaze you!
On the promenade from 10am to 4pm, there will be a fantastic static display with the backdrop of the gorgeous Llandudno Bay.
What makes this event something everyone can enjoy is the fact that these motorbikes are then paraded through towns with their fantastic lights gleaming, making for a wonderful spectacle of lights that everyone can appreciate.
The parade is set to start at 8.00pm Saturday and as the event proved very popular last year, we are expecting once more that the promenade will be filled with GoldWing fans and interested locals alike out to enjoy the fun.
The town mayor and other dignitaries will be making an appearance, judging the best lit bike.
The event aims to put on a great show for the public as-well as to raise money for the RNLI, with last year’s parade which raised over 4,700 for The Royal Lifeboat Institution and local charities distributed by Llandudno Lions.
So if you happen to be a GoldWinger who’s interested in being apart of the festival, we look forward to seeing you! If you’re visiting the area or are local, then you are in for a real treat.
The Llandudno GoldWing Light Parade 2014 promises to be another bumper event, and a fantastic way to end August in this picturesque seaside town. Don’t miss out and make sure that you come and watch the show at 8!
If you aren’t local, that’s no excuse not to come! There’s plenty of space to stay, like a Llandudno seafront hotel!
