Many people will remember (perhaps hazily) trying to walk through a drive through at McDonalds after a night out in Llandudno, hoping to get their hands on some late night grub. Instead of obtaining that sought-after greasy sandwich that you so desire, you were likely greeted by disgruntled late-night Maccies staff shaking their heads disapprovingly.
The resteraunt usually closes at 12:00am every night; however it does has a 24 hour license for the drive through. Therefore only those who are motorised can have access to late night McDonalds, which rules out those who have been partying all night.
Well, what if I was to tell you that could all change?
McDonalds’ Llandudno branch is set to hold a walk-through on 2.30 – 4am. After a long night dancing away at the newly reopened Broadway Boulevard Nightclub, you will have the opportunity to trek over to McDonalds and soak up that hangover with a splendid spread of junk-food. Many revellers will delight in making a selection from the full McDonalds Menu anything from the famous Big Mac to my personal choice a Deli-Wrap.
If the session goes off without a hitch and is seen as a positive thing for the business and the area, then maybe we can expect a mass exodus from Broadway to McDonalds as a staple part of the itinery for a night out in Llandudno.
A McDonalds Spokesperson said “As the restaurant is in the process of securing a 24 hour license, customers can only use the drive-thru to order food at night, so the ‘walk-through’ is just a play on how customers can come and enjoy a nice meal, later in the evening.”
Those planning on swinging by McDonalds after a night at the club would be advised to be on their best behaviour if they want this scheme to continue into the future.
