The Moelfre Lifeboat Day is a huge fundraising event that aims to raise money towards the fantastic services the R.N.L.I offer to the general public to save lives at sea. Held each August in Moelfre, Anglesey, it is one of the biggest events in North Wales of the year. This year’s event takes place on Saturday 10th August 2013.
The event will feature a number of entertaining and educating stalls, activities and displays, including lifeboat displays, hundreds of crafts and boats, a display from the RAF Valley rescue helicopter, music, entertainment, stalls and much more.
The event should attract thousands of people throughout the course of the day, providing fun, amusement and awareness to every visitor. There are set to be a huge variety of stalls than range from jewellery, cards, dolls, gifts, 2nd hand goods, handcrafts and tombola’s, all the way to gardening supplies and children’s wear.
You will also be able to expect a fantastic funfair that has fairground rides perfect for all of the children. There will be a magician providing a short magic show, along with face painting services. Fancy dress applied for the kids that love to get creative and dress up and there will also be a fun disco after the day’s events have passed.
The Moelfre Lifeboat Day will see the Moelfre Stores become open and the Wheel and Anchor Fish and Chips Restaurant welcoming hungry diners. Ann’s Pantry, as well as local pubs; the Kinmel Arms and Oak Lodge will be open. Laura’s Caban will be open on the sea front in the heart of the activities, which will allow many visitors to enjoy refreshments in the heart of activity. A hog roast will also be open for diners that fancy a warm treat.
There is free parking for everyone that wants to attend this great fundraising day (donations if possible) located opposite the Oak Lodge. The Boathouse will be open from 10am with guided tours and the opportunity for photographs with boats and crew available. The boat launch is around 12:30pm due to the tide.
