It could be argued that New Year’s Eve is one of the most celebrated events in the world. Whether we’re seeing out a rather fantastic year, or perhaps being glad to see the back of it for one reason or another – there’s always some optimism for what the forthcoming year might bring us.
It’s often a time where we can get dressed up and enjoy time with friends and family who we’ve spent the current year with. A lot of people host New Year’s Eve parties in the own homes, which usually involve plenty of party food and drinks – but if you’re thinking of heading out somewhere special to ring in the New Year at the end of the month, here are some event ideas to get you planning.
Residents of Conwy will be pleased to hear that the North Wales Cruising Club will be hosting another traditional New Year’s Eve party this year.
It’s free to attend, and there will be entertainment provided by the band ‘The Conwys’.
In true New Years Eve fashion, there will be plenty of drinks to choose from. The event begins and 9pm and ends at 1am, giving you plenty of time to ring in and celebrate the New Year with friends and family.
If you’re looking for something extra special and lavish this New Year’s Eve, The Quay Hotel’s Black Tie Ball should be at the top of your list.
This elegant gala dinner includes a champagne reception with canapés, as well as an impressive six course meal.
The Quay’s resident DJ will be playing new and classic songs well into the New Year.
It’s £110 a ticket, and as expected, a strict black tie dress code is required.
The St George’s Hotel is going all out this year, with a luxurious New Years Eve Gala Dinner. Kicking off at 7pm, you’ll receive champagne and a choice of canapés before sitting down for a grand festive menu.
Afterwards, you can dance into the New Year on the hotels dance floor, with music provided by their resident DJ. Tickets for the event are £75 per adult, and all guests must follow a strict black tie dress code.
The Llandudno Bay Hotel will also be hosting a New Year’s Gala Dinner. You’ll be greeted to a sparkling drinks reception, before sitting down to an indulgent four-course gala dinner in their Forster Restaurant.
A live band and disco will help you celebrate and bring the New Year in once the meal has ended. Booking is essential for this event, and tickets per person cost £95.
Fans of Northern Soul music won’t want to miss the celebrations at The Waverly Hotel this year. With 5 DJs playing classic Northern Soul tunes from 6pm to 3am in the morning – you’re guaranteed to have a brilliant start to 2017.
There are also hotel packages available if you want to treat yourself to somewhere to stop for the night. Tickets for this event at £5, and you can pay on the door. The price also includes a tasty buffet.
The Dylan’s restaurant in Criccieth is hosting a New Year’s Eve buffet this year. Your £30 ticket will include a very delicious buffet, a glass of prosecco and free reign on the dance floor until 1am.
Expect to taste a mix of traditional and luxury foods, including pizza, smoked mackerel pate, falafel bites, Greek salad, honey roasted ham, and the party food favourite – freshly made sausage rolls. The food will be served at 8pm.
If you’ve already booked to eat here on New Year’s Eve, you can join in on the New Year festivities for only £5.
For those with children, firework displays are always a popular choice. If they can stay awake long enough to see the New Year in, there will be a fireworks display at midnight on the Beaumaris Pier.
The Black Seal will be hosting a tasty Tapas Night on New Year’s Eve. It’s £35 per ticket, and also includes a disco with a live DJ, so guests can dance until well after midnight. Snack into the New Year with some delicious tapas dishes!
If you live within Flintshire, the New Year’s Eve Gala Buffet at the Springfield Hotel is a wonderful option. There will be a ‘Real Class’ band and in-house DJ providing the musical entertainment for the night. If you plan on staying the night, the hotel is offering a residential package starting at £209.
Celebrate New Year’s Eve in a traditional and decadent style at Ruthin Castle Hotel & Spa. You’ll enjoy a champagne reception, with a delicious selection of canapés to keep you satiated until it’s time to be seated for the superb five-course meal.
Once everyone’s finished their dinner, you’ll be invited into the main ballroom for the evening’s entertainment. Tickets for the event are £110 per person.
