The festival is a fantastic three day event and a treat for anyone who loves to support music and Welsh culture. It is also a great opportunity for individuals and choirs to showcase their abilities.
Many local companies in North Wales have been playing their part in supporting local musical talent by sponsoring the event.
The North Wales Choral Festival has a great reputation among choirs and singers that extends beyond North Wales. Participants in the competition come from all over the UK and Europe to take part in this prestigious musical event.
This highly entertaining singing competition offers several different categories of music styles singers can compete in to win cash prizes such as male voice, youth, ladies and barbershop style.
You may notice community performances in various locations near the venue of the event too. Community performances were introduced last year and have been a huge success. If you are around the Llandudno area during the competitions you may well catch sight of a flash mob or musical performance in the local shopping centre!
In addition to attracting the best musical talent the festival is highly involved with promoting music and culture in education. To aid this they host Schools Day and they are proud to have Brenig Construction as their junior schools category sponsor for the competition of 2013. Sponsorship by local companies helps the festival continue to grow and develop. This support will hopefully encourage more young people to take an interest in music, learning to sing and their local Welsh culture.
The North Wales Choral Festival will take place from the 8-10th of November in Venue Cymru in Llandudno. This is the festival’s 25 year and it has growth in popularity and reach every year so much so that the original one day event had to be extended to three days to encompass all the wonderful performances.
Two of the main sponsors for the competition are also uniting to work on local building projects to help the community. Brenig Construction have won a contract with Willmott Dixon to complete infrastructure on Ysgol Y Gogarth and Maes Y Glyn social hosuing development in Llandudno.
