A top choir is to sing in a Christmas concert in Llandudno this year, following from various other successful choral events in the region.
The Amici del Canto choir is locally based and has sung to great acclaim in some of Europe’s leading venues. Their latest performance will follow a series of successful Summer concerts in Hungry as well as well as performances of Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro.
Amici del Canto are an award-winning Chamber Choir of approximately twenty-five singers, made up from music professionals and students from all walks of life.
On this occasion they will be delivering a mixed programme with highlights form Handel’s Messiah, as well as a series of other wonderful Christmas carols.
Sunday 15th December 2014 – St Paul’s Church Craig-y-Don, Llandudno. 7.00 PM. Admission is free, there will be a retiring collection.
This performance follows the recent Llandudno Choral Festival, which highlighted the dynamism of local act along with worldwide names.
43 acts descended on Venue Cymru to display their talents and many of them have been lauded for success.
The 25 year old event saw the introduction of a ‘School’s Day’ on its anniversary and it was a superb (but undoubtedly daunting) introduction for the youngsters. Ysgol Dewi Sant took home the top honours in a fiercely contested event.
Wynne Evans was far removed from the GoCompare tenor he plays on the love/hate adverts, when he wowed the audience on Friday night. If he keeps delivering fantastic performances like these then he will won’t have to try too hard to make it on his own.
