Mountains, coast and six counties
North Wales runs from the Isle of Anglesey and the Llŷn Peninsula in the west to Wrexham and the Dee estuary in the east, with the mountains of Eryri at its heart. It covers six counties: Anglesey, Gwynedd, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham, home to around 700,000 people.
It is a working, Welsh-speaking region as much as a holiday destination.
